Sales, Product, Marketing & Brand management - empowered by bicycles
If you would like to know a little about who I am, what I have done, and what I can do, check out my LinkedIn page
Fortunate are those people who are able to make their hobby, their passion, their life.
For me, bicycles have always been a passion, a form of expression, transport and amusement.
When I was younger I rode, raced, and then worked in independent Bicycle shops, like you find on a High Street near you, who buy their products from regional distributors.
Then I was approached and went to work for some larger & smaller distributors, who sell to the shops, and had smaller and then larger jobs within them.
Moving on I then worked for the brands who produce bicycles or accessories and who sell to the distributors.
Then I worked for the (mostly Asian) factories who make the things for the brands.
Along the way I’ve made countless friends and acquaintance in the trade, and helped plenty of companies connect, done favors for World Champions, brought amazing riders or products to the right people, and helped get the party started (and clean up again afterwards..)
Lastly, I’ve worked for the internet powerhouses who are turning all the above upside down.
Accordingly I’ve seen this industry from every angle, from every perspective, in companies from 5-500+ employees, from $500k to $400m, but almost always in small, overstretched, teams where to succeed you need to be a ‘Jack of all trades’ - and a good one at that.
While doing all that, I’ve had to learn and master: Product Development, Project Management, Quality Controll & Legal Compliance, Import & Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution, Marketing, Photo & Video, Trade Shows, Sales - B2B, B2B & Key Account, Financial - both Budgeting & Daily accounting.
These days I’m based in the geographical heart of the UK, and am available for Freelance or employment opportunities; contact me and I’ll be delighted to talk.
